The history of Minnesota Motor Company began in 1917 as a Ford dealership, but was quickly renamed a Chevrolet dealership when Marsden G. Brimhall purchased one-third of the company's capital stock and took on the role of Dealer Manager. During the year 1923, the Minnesota Motor Company sold 74 Chevrolets, with 46 of those sold by Brimhall. In 1924, the company also added Buick and Cadillac franchises to its portfolio.
